Mah — Introduction
October 16, 2007Hey.. for those who don’t know me, my name is Marina but PLEASE, call me Mah (:
I’m 15 years old and I study at Bandeirantes – which, by the way, I hate more than anything. But, thank God, i’m going back to my old school next year, where I studied my whole life and it’s the place I consider my second home.
Besides school, I also take theather and guitar classes every week and have an alternative rock band for almost 3 years. I play the principal guitar and do most of the backvocals. The band is formed by me and other 3 friends – only girls – and we already recorded some of our own songs and last year we made a DVD. The band’s name is The Side, but please, don’t ask me why lol . The thing is that a veeeery long time ago, when we didn’t even know how to play well , a friend of us who lives in Santos, told us about a huge event that was going on, where lot’s of new bands were introduced to people and she called us! That night, we had to decided the name AND the logo of the band. So, with all the emotional pression, you can imagine that the names were – most of them – absurd. Anyway, nowadays we had considered changing the name but now everybody we know is used to The Side.. (they already made us t-shirts and stuff! )
anyway, i guess that’s pretty much it , I don’t really like to describe myself like that.. it just gives me the impression that, in only a few words, a whole life can be elucidated.. all the feelings and the personality characteristics.. whatever, you get it, right?! lol
ps: yes, usually, what I write, doesn’t make any sense at all..

Hi Mah,
It is quite interesting that you don’t want to be called by our first name, like me. Psychologists say that people who refuse to be called by their first name has a problem of self-esteem. Do you agree with such statements? Maybe we both have issues we need to get solved in our lives
Just something to think of …
Wow, have your parents agreed on you going back to your old school? I also went to Colegio Bandeirantes and did not enjoy it much either. But my parents did not even consider the possibility of dropping out of that school. They were proud of having one of their offspring graduate from such a prominent high school. Besides, for them, it would be saving money because they wouldn’t have to pay for a college preparation school like Anglo or Etapa to help me get into college. Are you sure you are making the right decision?
Wow # 2! A DVD! That is great! Maybe we can try to squeeze in some time in class for you to show us a short clip of your group performing. How do you find the time to rehearse attending Colegio Bandeirantes? Also, are you planning on taking this band thing seriously, or is it just a gig for the moment? Sometimes, people give up on their dreams in the name of something higher like school or work, and now that I am 37 years old, I regret many of the passions that I gave up on when I was your age, like competing in Japanese Karaoke, taking singing lessons, etc
Maybe I will dig in the courage to take up those passions again in the future. The problem now is that I am feeling a bit too old to go back, you see
